Greater Sydney Junior-Sydney West (GSJ-SW) replaces Greater Western Football Association (GWFA) in an effort to streamline & standardise AFL junior rules and administrative processes among the eight (8) Sydney regions Inaugural Chairman Tony Nixon, Quakers Hill.
Formation of GSJ effectively sees the end of regional club delegates and thus 'one club, one vote'.
Quakers Hill Bombers joins the region while GSJ-SW manages the merged Under 14 & Under 16 competitions with GSJ-South West. Unfortunately due to low numbers, Penrith were unable to field an Under 16 side.
The Penrith Rams return to Greygums Oval after losing tenancy at Dukes Oval, stemmed mainly by complaints from Penrith District Cricket.
First time in known club history where there is a 3-way tie in a Best & Fairest count
